Peach Dobbler

Good things grow in Ontario.  The peaches are so ripe and juicy right now that you just have to buy them by the basket.  Get them before they head south!  I made a peach pie for the peeps and decided to make The Boys a Peach Cobbler-esque dessert as they don’t need the pastry and sugar. Neither do we, actually, but hey, hey, what can I say.

I peeled a few extra peaches and whipped this up in less than 10 minutes with very few ingredients.

INGREDIENTS:
3 peaches
TBS flour
TSP cinnamon
2 TBS Dog friendly granola (rolled oats could sub

I used some Nature’s Path Hemp Plus Granola that I had on hand.  It has rolled oats, brown rice four, flax and hemp seeds, works for me.   This product does have sugar cane juice so I used it sparingly, it’s definitely a treat for these fellas.

Peel your peaches and then in a mixing bowl, lightly dust them with the flour and cinnamon. Gently toss them in the mixture. In a non-stick frying pan or sauce pot, just soften them up for a few minutes over medium heat and let a little of the juices melt with the flour so you have a bit of a gloss going on.

Remove from heat and sprinkle granola on top. You can broil for a couple of minutes for a crispier topping, or serve as is.   Even Hank, who resents most fruits but begrudgingly eats them sometimes LOVED THIS PEACH DOBBLER!

Happy September, here’s to cooking with as much local produce as we can before winter comes.
